Alberta Career Development Action Group

I was the founding chair of the Alberta Career Development Action Group and served as chair from 1994 to 1998, The Action Group was composed of leaders in career development from government, post-secondary institutions, service providers, and practitioners. Participants in the Action Group were united by a belief in the importance of career development in people's lives, a willingness to work collaboratively, and a common vision that there are many things that can be accomplished more effectively by pooling resources and working together as opposed to working independently. Although the need for the Action Group has passed and therefore the group no longer exists, ACDAG had a major influence in the creation of many noteworthy endeavours that substantially advanced the career development profession in Alberta and was influential in helping similar initiatives take place in other provinces.
