International Symposium on Career Development and Public Policy

One of the highlights of my professional career has been participation in the International Symposiums on Career Development and Public Policy. The first two international symposiums were hosted by Canada and coordinated by the CCDF. The symposiums were intended to promote dialogue between policy makers, service providers, and researchers. I was part of the Canada team to the international symposiums in 2007 (Scotland) and 2009 (New Zealand), and will be part of the Canada Team to the 2011 international symposium in Hungary in 2011. Multi-sectoral teams from more than 20 countries participate in these events, and most of the participating countries have detailed follow up plans to continue the momentum created by the international event.
